Liguria is one of the 20 Italian regions, the third smallest, located on the northwest of Italy. It stretches along the northern coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea and due to its attractiveness and beauty bears the name Italian Riviera. Liguria offers a lot: a pleasant climate, beautiful nature, clear sea, rich cultural and historical heritage, specific architecture, excellent gastronomy and great entertainment. The capital of Liguria is Genoa, one of the most beautiful Italian cities, also the busiest Italian port. Among the other major sites there are La Spezia, Savona, Imperia and the town of Sanremo.

Main places and nautical centers on Tuscan coast are Livorno, Castiglioncello, Piombino and Follonica. West of Tuscany, between the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Sea, extends the archipelago of seven islands of which the largest one is Elba.
